1st Lady -Trellis Menefee
Trellis was born in Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in Atlanta and the Union City vicinity her entire life. She is a graduate of Fairburn High School and received an undergraduate degree from Fort Valley State College.
She has been employed by the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company for twenty-nine years. More than half of those have been in Supervisory/Management positions.
Trellis is the wife of Pastor John D. Menefee and they have been blessed to celebrate thirty years of marriage. She whole heartily supports him in his passion and the vision the Lord has given him for our Church family.
Trellis has been a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church family her entire life and accepted Jesus as her personal savior at a young age. She has served in several Ministries; Children’s, Service Board, Women’s and Music. She currently is a member of the Deaconess/Minister’s Wives Ministry and Sunday School Ministry. Trellis serves in the capacity of Sunday School Superintendent and has been in this position for nine years. She has the gift of teaching and she teaches children and adult classes.
She is most proud of serving with the all the wonderful people of this Church family. But she considers it a double blessing to have members of her immediate family serve our Lord and Savior in this same mountain, her mother Annie Mae Smith; daughters; Talisha J. Johnson and Jessica Menefee and grandchildren; Jonathan Johnson, Jazymyn Johnson, Jamiyah Johnson and Joshua Menefee, son-in-law, Gartrell Johnson.

She testifies to the goodness of God for not only did he bless her mother and grandmother to bring her to this church family but he has blessed her to bring her children and her children to bring their children and to enhance that blessing, he has given her a son who like his father has been called into the Gospel ministry; Rev. John D. Menefee, Jr. To God be the Glory.
