“A Clean Vessel Fitted For the Master’s Use”
II Corinth 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
Everyone desires clean tools to work with; so does God. When we repent (ask God to forgive of our past wrongs) and by faith accept Jesus (the son of God) and his finished work on the cross (his death, burial, and resurrection), we too are clean and filled with the Holy Spirit ready for the Master use.
Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body” (I Cor. 6:19, 20).
When Jesus was in Jerusalem, He saw that the Temple of God was being defiled. What did He do? He cleansed it. How much more important that our body be clean, for it is the temple in which the Holy Spirit dwells. It is necessary that we be clean and holy vessels. All our thoughts, opinions, feelings, past hurts, attitudes, and everything that has happened to us throughout our lives, make us who we are. The problem with that is we risk adding part of ourselves to the Pure and Holy Word of God.
One thing is certain: The Holy Spirit will not dwell in a dirty, filthy temple. Each one of us has our part in this temple cleansing. I John 1:9 is our Spiritual Bar of Soap use it as many times as necessary. Cleanse yourself with it “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Do your part and the Holy Spirit will do the rest. Lord Jesus helps us to be clean Vessels for you to use.
